Students learn about the uses of water in modern life and how that is no more water now than ever before. Calculate families water usage, understand the need to conserve water, link to growing population and everyone’s right to safe drinking water.
Aimed at Year 6-8 focused around NOS and making observations of the sky. Develops understanding of clouds, the sun, stars, constellations and the moon.
Making observations and NOS that help understand the solar system, including Mātauranga Māori themes and ideas. Exploring the variaous parts of the solar system including the sun, moon, types of planets and dwarf planets. The unit goes on to investigate human exploration of the solar system.
